Kuya E stages another inspirational concert

Inspired by the success of his first concert “Miracles, Music and Love” last Dec. 14, Kuya E (Neo de Padua) is set to present his second concert on Sept. 18, also I at the Music Museum. In a recent interview, Kuya E said “the concept will still be inspirational but I will spice it with a little comic touch. I will also do a little dancing, but three steps lang siguro,” he jested.

Among his songs are songs of hope, songs that impart positive insights and songs that will inspire one’s self to achieve success. And this is why the show is entitled “Rule Yourself to Success (RYTS).” But Kuya E adds an interesting tidbit: “I will also be singing a medley of Ogie Alcasid hit songs. Kasi I’m a big fan of his, I really idolize Mr. Ogie Alcasid,”

“Rule Yourself to Success (RYTS)” is also the title of Kuya E’s show on NET 25 which started last May 13 and aired every Saturday at 4pm. He revealed that he converted as member of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) when he was 16.

His concert on Sept. 18 is for the benefit of cancer patients under the care of his Big Eyes Foundation. There used to be 11 of them, “but yung tatlo nagamot at gumaling na,” Kuya E revealed. He also confessed that he himself is a cancer survivor.

He was born poor so he could relate to the situation in life of the underprivileged, he said. He was only five years old when he started “making hanapbuhay, selling merienda stuffs.” By the way, he also grants scholarships to poor but deserving students.

He may be living a comfortable life now, having achieved great success in his business endeavours but Kuya E reminded us that he was born poor, at that illegitimate too. “We were seven na panganay ng Tatay ko, so when I was small I was bullied, I was discriminated upon.” He is proud to be telling people about his rags-to-riches story. And this is why, he made it his self-imposed mission to inspire others to be successful too.

There were trials he had to hurdle but Kuya E persevered and even worked harder. Even when he was already well-off, trials continued to haunt him. For instance, he lost several millions in a business wherein he had a partner. “But all is in the past now, all under the bridge. These trials did nothing but emboldened me even more in my desire to succeed.”

Kuya E used to do comic performances when he was just starting to establish a name in showbiz. As to how his name Neo de Padua became KuyaE, it was the late Rico Yan who suggested he used Kuya E, he said.

Calendar the date, Sept. 18, and venue, Music Museum, if you want to watch another inspiring concert by this motivational celebrity simply called Kuya E!
