Veterans Bank Highlights History Con 2018 with Battle of Manila Exhibit

The Philippine Veterans Bank has partnered again with History Channel to present History Con 2018, dubbed as Manila’s biggest entertainment convention, last August 10 to 12, 2018 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

On this their third partnership, PVB chose to showcase the “Battle of Manila” for its exhibit area, commemorating the month-long warfare that was waged in the streets of Manila from February 3 to March 3, 1945 when Allied and guerrilla forces slowly forced the Japanese Imperial Army to retreat and liberated Manila from the latter’s clutches.

The PVB Battle of Manila exhibit was highlighted by a replica Sherman tank smashing through the Fort Santiago gate, depicting a famous scene from the battle over 70 years ago. Panels with photos and text also told the story of the battle and artifacts including machine guns, a mortar, helmets, period currency and other similar items were also on display for visitors to appreciate.

The three-day “History Con 2018” was mobbed by thousands despite the torrential rains and local celebrities were honored as History Makers which included actors, businessmen, and athletes. Several stars of History Channel’s popular show were also present to add spice to the event.
